A visual journey through the stars and constellations of the night, their stories and mythology, from the Roque de Los Muchachos. Aided with telescopes we will observe those celestial objects visible at night, like nebulas, star groups, planets and maybe the moon. Everything explained in simple and easy to understand terms, suitable for all ages. At the end of the tour, you will get an “astroselfie” (picture with stars in the background) as a memento.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Meeting point: Roque de Los Muchachos, next to the Visitor Center Parking Lot (Museo Roque de los Muchachos).
We’ve chosen this altitude for the following reasons, essential for your experience:
Above the Sea of Clouds: by positioning ourselves so high, we are above the cloud layer that frequently forms at lower altitudes. This is crucial for ensuring a clear sky.
Minimal Atmospheric Interference: The air is cleaner at this height, minimizing turbulence and light/atmospheric pollution, allowing for maximum quality stargazing.
Important: Lower areas of the island do not offer the same conditions or visibility guarantee.
Recommendations: to fully enjoy the activity, we recommend setting aside plenty of time to climb the same day in the afternoon and enjoy the spectacular sunset from Roque de Los Muchachos.
Acclimatization: hiking or strolling in the area will help you acclimatize.
Transportation: your own vehicle is required at all times. Transportation is NOT available.
Clothing and Food: bring plenty of warm clothing (temperatures drop significantly at altitude) and bring something to eat (picnic) and drink.
Languages: the activity is usually conducted in Spanish and English.
CHANGES and CANCELLATIONS:
1.- Changes and Cancellations by the company:
The Company reserves the right to cancel or modify the conditions of the guided tour due to reasons beyond its control or causes of force majeure.
Changes or cancellations may be made by:
Weather alerts, landslides or ice on road.
For unforeseen maintenance
For not reaching the MINIMUM number of visitors, established at 6 people.

An alternative date will be proposed (subject to availability) or the full amount of the ticket will be refunded.
2.- Changes and Cancellations by the customer:
For no cost, changes may be requested, subject to availability and with prior notice, up to 72 hours before the visit. Subsequently, later changes will not be accepted.
Cancellations 72 hours before the visit, 50% of the refund will be withheld by management. Otherwise, there will be no refund.
